Original Fine Art Photography and digital artwork by Donna Kennedy...HDR
The haunted Liberty Theatre opened in the 'Ghost Town' of Jerome, Arizona in 1918. The theatre featured silent movies and traveling vaudeville acts until it closed in 1929. It was built to seat 536 people. Patrons purchased their tickets at the front ticket booth for twenty to thirty cents, the cheaper seats were up in the balcony, of course. Shadowy figures have been seen walking in the aisles and corridors of the second and third floor, and voices have been picked up on ghost boxes and digital recorders.
Deep inside the Liberty resides the restored and fully functional theater. Movies can be viewed in the same atmosphere they were in the 1920's. This is sure to be one of the most unique movie viewing experiences you will ever have in your life. No multi-plexes here.
