Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy...
6 BNSF engines pulling freight Eastbound over the Truckee River near Nevada/CA state line.
The BNSF Railway Company is one of the largest freight railroad networks in North America, second to the Union Pacific Railroad (UP), its primary competitor for Western U.S. freight. BNSF is one of eleven North American Class I railroads and has 44,000 employees, 32,500 miles of track in 28 states, and more than 8,000 locomotives. The BNSF Railway Company is the principal operating subsidiary of parent company Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, the railroad's parent company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.
The Truckee River is a river in the U.S. states of California and Nevada. The river flows northeasterly and is 121 miles long. The Truckee is the sole outlet of Lake Tahoe and drains part of the high Sierra Nevada, emptying into Pyramid Lake in the Great Basin. 817
About Donna Kennedy
Having lived in the south (Florida & Mississippi) for 54 years my dream was to move out West which I did in 2008. I am in awe of this beautiful country that we call home, and photography has become a very important part of my life. Lighting and perseverance are top of the list, if it's having to hike for miles to get your shot, or waiting for hours in the freezing cold for a train, taking photos again and again of birds or wildlife to get that one beautiful capture, or being up at all hours of the night or early morning to get the full Moon or Milky Way. These are things which a photographer will do, because we love it so much, and strive to get that shot that we envision in our mind. I thank God every day for the gifts created by...
