Photographed in Fishlake National Forest-
A doe turns around, does she hear the peaceful sounds coming from the flute?
The Sioux were a deeply spiritual people, believing in one all-pervasive god, Wakan Tanka, or the Great Mystery. Religious visions were cultivated and the people communed with the spirit world through music and dance.
Fishlake National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located in central Utah.
Established in 1907, the forest covers 1.5 million acres and is split into four districts. The forest lies in parts of nine counties.
Aspens stand 40-70 feet in height, with a smooth white trunk 1-2 feet in diameter. The tree is deciduous, with leaves that are rounded and shine bright green until they turn yellow in the fall. Two-inch catkins flower in very early spring, producing small narrow cones that split to release copious amounts of tiny, cottony seeds that are dispersed by the wind. Reproduction, however, is almost entirely vegetative, with suckers sprouting from existing root systems, the Aspen is a Clone. The Quaking Aspen is named for its leaves, which shake easily in even a gentle breeze and produce a fluttering sound with only the slightest provocation.

Beautiful! I love birch trees. Many memories riding my horse through them when I was a kid. F LF

Wonderful and peaceful message from this image; how the deer turns its head toward the flute player. Wonderful.

Your "Forest Spirit" is truly captivating and...special awareness to the doe in the background. Congratulations! L/F
