Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy-HDR
Photographed on Going To the Sun Road, Glacier National Park.
Remnants from hurricane Hilary and wildfire smoke affected our trip, but I managed to get a few photos. The West entrance is under construction and with the rains it was a muddy nightmare so we drove to the East entrance.
Going-to-the-Sun Road is a scenic mountain road in the Rocky Mountains of the western United States, in Glacier National Park in Montana. Established as a National Park in 1910 it is a land of mountain ranges carved by prehistoric ice rivers. It features alpine meadows, deep forests, waterfalls, about 25 glistening glaciers and 200 sparkling lakes. The park covers over 1 million acres and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including grizzly bears, wolves, mountain goats, and elk.
The vistas seen from Going-To-The-Sun Road are breathtaking, a photographer's paradise.
