Two former Texas Rangers Robert Duvall (Gus McCrae) and Tommy Lee Jones (Captain Call) renew their spirit of adventure as they and several other residents of a small Texas town join a cattle drive to the Montana Territory. Based on Larry McMurtry's novel, the movie aired in1989. An estimated 26,000,000 homes tuned in to watch Lonesome Dove, unusually high numbers for a Western at that time.
This TV Movie has sold more DVD's than any Western in Cinema history.
