Kokopelli with the Milky Way, Cottonwood Arizona-August 2016
Kokopelli, also known as "the Hatchet Man" or "Hatchetman", is a fertility deity, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player (often with feathers or antenna-like protrusions on his head), who has been venerated by some Native American cultures in the Southwestern United States. Like most fertility deities, Kokopelli presides over both childbirth and agriculture. He is also a trickstergod and represents the spirit of music.
The Milky Way Galaxy is an immense and very interesting place. Not only does it measure some 100,000-120,000 light-years in diameter, it is home to planet Earth, the birthplace of humanity. Our Solar System resides roughly 27,000 light-years away from the Galactic Center, on the inner edge of one of the spiral-shaped concentrations of gas and dust particles called the Orion Arm.
