Silver Lake is located at the head of Big Cottonwood Canyon at 8,760 ft. just before Brighton Ski resort at the end of the road. This popular, family-friendly destination is a beautiful place to hike during the hot summer months of July and August when the mountain wildflowers burst into bloom. The trail around the lake and its associated wetlands is about a mile long, most of it along a wheelchair accessible boardwalk. There are picnic tables, informative signs, and fishing access points along the route. During the winter it becomes part of the Solitude Nordic Center system of cross-country skiing trails. 0921
