Description
Original Fine Art Photography and digital artwork by Donna Kennedy...
Bodie became famous around 1877 as a prosperous gold mining town. At it's peak there were almost 7,000 people and the mines took out around 34 million in gold. Now it's just a ghost town and through the years has survived numerous fires, theft and vandalism. It remains a very popular tourist destination.
Erected in 1879, this building served as a general store. It was owned by Harvey Boone, a direct descendant of Daniel Boone. Harvey was a great horse fancier and also owned the Boone Stable and Livery business.

The color tone in this building really makes this image into eye candy. It is nice that your can see some of the items inside the store. You were able to capture good details and I like the composition of the store filling the frame.
