Old abandoned homestead-Koosharem, Utah
Koosharem is a town in Sevier County, Utah, United States. Koosharem is also known as "Grass Valley” located on U-62, five miles north of Greenwich. The settlement was originally settled in 1877. The name is an Indian word referring to red clover or an edible tuber growing in the valley. The tuber was used as a food staple for the Indians. A tuber is a plant that mainly grows underground. Potatoes and yams are tubers.

Having lived in the south (Florida & Mississippi) for 54 years my dream was to move out West which I did in 2008. I am in awe of this beautiful country that we call home, and photography has become a very important part of my life. Lighting and perseverance are top of the list, if it's having to hike for miles to get your shot, or waiting for hours in the freezing cold for a train, taking photos again and again of birds or wildlife to get that one beautiful capture, or being up at all hours of the night or early morning to get the full Moon or Milky Way.
