A baby goat is called a kid, but did you know that a goat giving birth is said to be "kidding"? Within minutes of being born, kids are up and walking around. At three to four months the kids are weaned, and at 30 months they are ready to have kids of their own.
Goats were one of the first animals to be tamed by humans and were being herded 9,000 years ago.
