Still life of a cup of hot tea with honey, lemon and cinnamon sticks..
Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured or fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to China, India and other East Asian countries. Tea is also rarely made from the leaves of Camellia taliensis. After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world.
Among other things, tea contains “polyphenols” antioxidants that repair cells and in doing so, may help our bodies fight help us fend off cardiovascular diseases, cancers, osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus and other maladies. And contrary to popular belief, it’s not just green tea that’s good for you. Black, white, and red tea also have health-giving flavonoids and polyphenols.
