Photo taken March 2011, this was the last year we had significant snowfall in our area. Now in a five year drought we hope for a heavy snowpack this season.
On this cold Spring day I was driving back from Lake Tahoe, I turned into the Squaw Valley Ski Resort and noticed people were shoveling the huge amount of snow off the roof of one of the buildings there. I'm surprised the roof didn't cave in from the weight, that's a lot of snow!!
Tucked away between Truckee and Tahoe City, Squaw Valley Ski Resort in Olympic Valley, California, is one of the largest ski areas in the United States, and was the host site of the entire 1960 Winter Olympics.

A memorable capture for sure, we are in the middle of a big storm now and this is a good reminder to what may come. At least here, many hands are making the work lighter
