Description
Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy-
Photographed on Hwy 287, about 50 miles southwest of Casper, WY.
Pathfinder Ranches is comprised of historic ranches in central Wyoming and is professionally managed for the balanced benefit to western rangelands and wildlife habitats. Flocks of Greater Sage-grouse and herds of antelope and bighorn sheep abound across the sea of sagebrush and open plains.
Pathfinder Ranches maintain 638,000 acres in the middle of Wyoming.
Pronghorns are reddish brown in color. They have white belly and white stripes on throat. Erected white hairs on the rump are used to inform other members of the group about potential danger. This patch of white fur can be seen miles away. The pronghorn is the second fastest land mammal in the world, after the cheetah. It can achieve speed of 53 miles per hour and run a mile and a half without slowing down.
