Photographed in Caughlin Ranch, Reno Nevada
Weeping White Birch is a small to medium sized tree that typically grows to 30 to 40 feet tall with a pyramidal to oval rounded crown. It is a lovely tree noted for its white bark, which exfoliates in papery strips, its drooping or pendulous branches and glittering glossy green leaves. Their papery bark and yellow fall foliage make them desirable landscape features, particularly in their native mountain or streamside habitats, and are truly spectacular with age.
Caughlin Ranch is a master planned 2,400 acre neighborhood community located in southwest Reno just south of the Truckee River, with its western border along the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest boundary.
