Description
Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy…
Photographed in natural morning light, Cedar City, Utah
'Blue Jay’ Columbine produces large, violet blue and white flowers. Use in shady, woodland borders or as a cut flower. Aquilegia is especially lovely when allowed to naturalize in shady, woodland borders. They also have excellent potential as cut flowers, lasting up to 2 weeks in a vase.
Bushy and clump-forming, this attractive perennial enjoys delicate blossoms in shades of blue, violet, pink or white with spreading sepals and short-hooked spurs. They rise with natural grace in a mound of thin, leafy stems in late spring to early summer. Leaves are gray-green, rounded and divided into lobed leaflets.
