Amazing example of survival... what a beautifully composed portrait, Donna, of this magnificent tree! Awesome, inspiring work! F/L

Awesome Title and Capture Donna! These tree roots remind me of tangled octopus tentacles. I also see what resembles the head of an octopus slumped against the base of this tree. L&F

Donna--I feel for this tree. It has a life of its own and I would give it a helping hand if I ever saw such suffering like this. In that it is a plant has little to do with it. I never thought I would have an emotional impact like this--however this is not the usual "pretty flowers" that we see so often. FAV and blown away.
Donna Kennedy replied:
I know what you mean Reynold, but walking the trails I saw quite a few trees that were like this one, and surprisingly they all seem to be surviving! Thanks for visiting...:)

That pine is trying to live and grow probably hundreds of years in dry soil! Excellent shot Donna! L

Wonderful capture Donna! What an amazing tree, it would most certainly inspire those who create bonsai.
