Description
Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy-
A overflowing basket filled with vintage wine bottle corks.
My husband has had this collection of corks from the 80’s and 90’s so I decided to photograph them :)
Wine corks are a stopper used to seal wine bottles. Cork is derived from the bark of Quercus suber, also known as the cork oak tree. These evergreens, the majority of which grow in Portugal and Spain, are abundant and strictly protected. Cork oaks regenerate their outer layer of bark, which allows them to be harvested about once every decade.
Common alternative wine closures include screw caps and glass stoppers. 68 percent of all cork is produced for wine bottle stoppers.
